Knowledge is Power. . . and sometimes a pain in the ass.

Did you ever know things. ..  lots of things.  Lots of things about lots of things  but were unable to tell anyone.  I'm not talking about a secret here.  Anyone can put the pieces together themselves and in truth anyone can find the pieces if they were willing to look.  And there is the rub. People don't always want to know things.   "It's too deep" or "You think to much"  or my personal favorite "That stuff is for 'Those People'"     Who are "Those People"  and what does that mean exactly.  Is it a bad thing?   Am I a bad person because I want to know?   There is no intent here to shove it down any ones throat  just a curiosity and a desire to express what I have seen, learned and understood. Which is why I like this blog thing because I am not holding a gun to your head telling you to read on.   And then theres the other rub some things knowable cannot be expressed  because we  aren't the only ones reading.    VAGUE !!!! I know MYSTERIOUS!!! possibly . ..  but true. There is another sentient creation known to man.  The angelic creation both fallen and elect and  believe it or not   both sides love the Internet  its like seeing the conflict they are fighting in real time and its fascinating.  We are fascinating to them  as  they are to us.    The pieces separate  are neither vague nor mysterious   nor would the complete picture be  once it is in fact complete  but  getting from pieces to complete work . . . . . hmmm  Dangerous    I am not certain the fallen  want us to put all the pieces together  which is why I cannot find any completed works on the matter.   Lots of good work Clarence Larkin has hit on some very important points but it wasn't his focus.   Yet if more people had more pieces  they could see trends.   Trends that pop out of the front page  out of the nightly news and out of the radio.  They would see the bigger picture and the greater conflict.   But there we get back to the first problem . . . People don't want to know.    its too deep . . . I think to much . . .  that stuff is for "Those People". Fear  Ignorance,  it keeps us chained downed   keeps us in the system.   I am not asking people to go running out for a copy of angelology 101.   I am saying MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!  YOU ARE NOT CATTLE!!!  STOP ACTING LIKE YOU ARE.      Broaden your scope. Look beyond the everyday and see into the truth of things.    From the smallest ant to the largest whale  all things have truth all things have a logical purpose.  We take things at face value and never look deeper.  It's easier sure. . .but all things evil seem that way that's the enticement,  the dull to your senses  if you bite at this lie we will feed you a bigger one  and if that doesn't work we will change it to make it more palatable.
Yet in the search for truth  many  have gone from one extreme to the other,  jumping to condemn,  or going on childish tirades.   I must admit  I am very ashamed to call myself a christian and a conservative  with all the knee jerk  asinine  worthless  ignorant fools running around  making noise and trying to  make everyone afraid  of everything.    There is no truth in that.  Turning every possible event into a war between left and right,  making everything  a big dramatic affair when it should be a logical rational debate.    I do not support  this behavior   the children and fools who are  shoving their wrong!  opinions down the throats of the American people and holding hostage the establishments and principles for which this country stands.    It is wrong  and just as evil as the men and women they are trying to vilify.     And in the bigger picture,  the greater conflict ,are those who are watching. . . giddy,  as they see us tearing ourselves apart instead of finding the right way to do things .   No one on either side is the least bit concerned about Freedom,  Free Will,  Privacy,  or doing the right thing for the right reason.   It's all about "keeping our promise" or "Stopping them at all costs!"  and anyone with half a brain knows its all just a pile of very smelly garbage..  Protecting our freedom, free will and privacy are more important than any of the silly little petty humanistic issues we see passing through the halls of power these days. .   What good is living a life of plenty  (food, shelter, health,)  if you have no freedom to succeed or fail on your own and make your own choices.   cattle...   worse  factory farm cattle  is what we are choosing to become.  I'd gladly choose famine and disease over slavery.  Famines pass  Diseases can be cured, and death?  what of death?   When you have given up all your freedom to fail you will also give up your freedom to succeed and you will come to wish for death as a release from the drudgery.  No human spirit can thrive while chained this fundamental  human characteristic must be understood.   This understanding is the hallmark of Patrick Henry's famous quote "Give me liberty or give me death."

I am not motivated to write this because the worst could happen  . ..  so what if the worst happens God has a plan for it so why be afraid of it.  It may mean war or death or famine or climate change. So what. In the end we will be right back where we started eventually. History has proven this out.  I am motivated to write  because I hate seeing my enemy giddy  and hatching plans  when they should be frustrated and retreating.  . .   frustrated and retreating  for them  is a good thing.  And because it means more people get to have more freedom and be able to make more of their own problems with their own freedom instead of having problems forced upon them through slavery.

Vanity vs Grace

For the longest time I wore black.  Black shirt, pants, shoes,  to the nines all black.   The real reason I wore it well  I look good in black and everyone says I don't look right in bright colors.  But the reason I wore it  was to keep people out.   Stay out  stay back keep away,  I'll be honest with you  I love you all but you scare me.   All your emotions and your tensions and your issues and your drama.  I am a naturally empathic person and  I get to not only carry around all my baggage but when I am around others I have to pick up theirs and carry it around too. Let me tell you.  its rough,  all those secrets you think your hiding,  you aren't its all out there for anyone who can pick up on your body language.  So  wear black  keep you back  I don't  have to share in your issues "got me a nice little wall here and you are out there YAY"   Its a defence mechanism sure and it works. . . albeit in a dysfunctional way.  There is a better way, and I am thankful to Dr. Chaffer and Dr. Theme for enlightening me on this way.  Grace. . .  grace is loving people and giving them privacy.    Grace is impersonal love for all mankind.   Grace means you love them not based on who and what they are  but on who and what you are.  And I don't mean in any arrogant way.  You love them because they are human and you can accept their flaws because you have flaws and should not judge.  Grace and humility go hand and hand.  None of us deserve to be alive or to have the wonderful gifts we have yet we do.  Why?   Because God loves us even when we are idiots and choose our own way and forget where we came from or how we got here.  Grace!

So I purchased clothes today! Yes I bought black pants.  They are work pants and I wanted a durable color. Plus hey  I still have a lot of black clothes so they match.  But!!!!!  I got white socks    why. . .  why. .. . because they looked comfy!   From now on  I am gonna get clothes that make me feel good and leave looks to people who care.. ..  I'll tell you a secret . . .  I really like flannel!  Its so comfy!!

The Edge of Tomarrow

Have you ever stared into your own soul? Have you ever looked deep into your life your doings your sayings your thinking's and analyzed them for the truth of who you are and who you want to be? For months I have. . . I have thought so hard it made my head hurt. . . who am I if there is a purpose for me what is it and how do I begin to take that path. . . I have poured over theology textbooks and the writings of great men. . . . I have found a great deal of knowledge and it is for certain that my feet are set upon the path without having actually realised it. But to continue along that path. . . One must be changed as a part of the journey. . . We have to grow to mature to give up old habits bad habits that we know are bad that we know are not for our own good. It isn't easy. . . To change your priorities to make that dedication first in your life and everything else second. . . To love Christ the Logos is to love his word for Christ is called in the Greek Logos which means Word. So the first step in the path is bible study and it must be a priority. The funny part of the process is I see the changes I need to make to go further and they are easy and yet it takes discipline and organization and HAHAHA I wasn't blessed with an abundance of those gifts so I sit here deciding do I move forward forsaking those things which are behind, or do keep falling into the trap of the same old person with the same old routine? The edge of tomorrow with the promise of enlightenment and truth or more of the same. The choice seems so easy and so rewarding. I know that any things I choose to give up are better left given up the small petty cheap things that have no real value, and the gain is monumental. Better relationship with my family and acquaintances, enlightenment, patience, grace.

So how to begin. . . I think like a tree these changes must happen slow I must grow into them so that it is not a sacrifice to give such things up. I feel this is the most pragmatic and honest approach. Being brutally honest with ones self is important when you cut through all the rationalizations and total crap that you feed yourself to allow the same old same old. After it is all said and done that life is hollow and void of virtue and brings no warmth or comfort.

On to tomorrow friends and all the promise it holds!

The Wisdom of Trees

I have in my yard a tree blown down by a powerful west wind during a thunderstorm. It is a terribly sad thing to see a tree in such a state. Trees are the eldest, the long sufferers. They see decades, centuries. In Israel there are olive trees that have been known to have existed since before Christ. Thousands of years and they can teach us so much about wisdom. They are God's silent servants. They teach many doctrines found in the bible, long suffering, patience, grace. They go on day after day, year after year exerting very little effort on their surroundingss yet taking a great deal of punishment from it. They do things slow as we should taking time to make changes instead of rushing head long into one change after another searching for happiness and finding only fleeting pleasures. Happiness is something you build like layers of bark, it cannot be found in a tryst with a lover, or the high of a narcotic. We would be wise to listen to the trees and work from within to build the layers of happiness that comfort and indeed even protect against the trials and sufferings that are so much apart of our surroundings.

Between Darkness and Light

Between darkness and light there is shadow. Neither dark nor light. A very apt comparison for an immortal soul trapped within a mortal body. We who dwell for a glimpse of time then move on into eternity trapped between death and what lies beyond. I for one am a christian and believe that heaven lies beyond and an eternal purpose further beyond.

There are many reasons for our existence and many who ponder them. One reason often overlooked is that we exist for this short mortal time to grow, learn, experience, and take in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of things small. Then when we move on into the next existence we might take our knowledge of things small and use it as a musician might use his repertoire in the things that are much greater.

I love light, but I also love darkness and the experiences between range from frightening to breathtaking. I hope in this blog to share in a journey along the edge of shadow and all the complexities that entails. A journey of discovery and understanding, of perception and truth, from past to future, and from darkness to light and all the shadows in between.

There is more to life then merely to exist and every single moment there is an opportunity to capture an understanding of something smaller and larger . If you only take the time to see and to watch and to understand.
